Preparation for Health Screening and What to expect

  1. What to bring? [if applicable]

    • Letter of Guarantee from an approved company.
    • NRIC.
    • Passport. [non residents]
    • Any recent x-ray films/CD, laboratory results, current medication or medical report.

  2. General advise

    • Please call to make an appointment 1 or 2 days prior to screening.
    • You need 8 hours of fasting before your health screening in order to obtain accurate results. [Priority will be given to all the fasting procedure in order to reduce your fasting time]
    • Best to have a light dinner night before your screening.
    • Please inform our staff upon registration if you are on any medical treatment or medical conditions.
    • The duration of the Health Screening is about 3 to 5 hours depends on the package you have signed up for.

  3. Ladies

    • Best to have your health screening one week or 10 days before or after your menstrual cycle. This is especially when you have to do pap smear, ultrasound of pelvis and mammogram in order to obtain more accurate result.

  4. Treadmill

    • Please bring along your jogging attire and shoes. As you will perspire a lot after the treadmill and you need proper shoes as you will on the running machine.
    • If you are on any oral medications eg for hypertension or diabetics, please bring your tablets along with you.
    • A doctor will assess you prior to this test. Doctor will check your blood pressure and pulse and only if he/she sees you fit, will this test be done.

  5. Ultrasound Pelvis

    • Fasting is not required for this procedure.
    • You need to drink plenty of fluids for this procedure because a full bladder is required for this examination in order to have better view of your uterus / prostate.

  6. Ultrasound Abdomen

    • You need to fast overnight at least 8 hours prior to this procedure. [Priority will be given to all the fasting procedure in order to reduce your fasting time]

  7. X-Rays

    • You will have to remove all jewelries before this procedure.
    • Pregnant woman is not recommended to do this procedure.

  8. Mammogram

    • Please bring along your last mammogram film/CD and report if available.
    • Please do not use perfume, talcum powder or deodorant before this procedure.
    • Pregnant woman is not recommended to do this procedure.
    • Best to have your mammogram one week or 10 days before or after your menstrual cycle in order to obtain a more accurate result.

Physical examination
Complete physical examination by Resident Medical Officer. It is a head to toe examination.
MRI Brain Scan
To help diagnose tumors of the brain, stroke, hemorrhage, degenerative disorders, disorders of the eyes and the inner ear.
MSCT Coronary Calcium Score
To detect the presence of calcium in the coronary arteries of which calcium is a marker of coronary artery disease.
Carotid Ultrasound Scan
To detect narrowing, or stenosis, of the carotid artery, a condition that substantially increases the risk of stroke.
Chest X-Ray
To help diagnose diseases such as pneumonia, emphysema, lung cancer, heart failure and other heart problems.
Bone Densitometry
To use most often to diagnose osteoporosis.
Ultrasound Examination on Abdomen
To examine internal organs such as liver gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys.
Ultrasound Examination on Pelvis
To examine internal organs such as urinary bladder and uterus.
Treadmill Stress
To assess physical fitness, heart condition and early detection of coronary artery diseases.
Electrocardiogram [“ECG”]
To assess heart function and detect any cardiac abnormalities.
Echocardiogram
To investigate and display the action of the heart as it beats.
Comprehensive Blood Analysis
This blood screening covers all the main vital organs in our body. The first line of investigation before any further test is done.
Urinalysis
Urinalysis is a full examination and microscopic examination. It is to detect infection, diabetics, kidney problems and many more.
Stool Analysis
Stoll analysis is a full examination and microscopic test to detect any parasites, ova/cyst and occult blood.
Urea Breath Test
To detect H.pyloribacteria in the stomach.
Biomarker C12 Cancer Screening
Cancer Screening using the latest biotechnology to detect 12 different types of tumour markers.
Pap Smear
To screen for cervical cancer in women.
Mammogram
To detect early breast cancer and is important for successful treatment.
